House Rules

This page provides an overview of the House Rules at Stainsborough Hall Limited.

 

These rules are all contained within the Booking Terms and Conditions, but with the key points presented in a format that you can quickly share with your guests.  

 

The following house rules apply to the hiring of one or more of the properties at Stainsborough Hall.  They are intended to preserve the quality of our accommodation, and to make sure that our neighbours – both human and animal – and other guests are not disturbed. 

 

We do enforce these rules and, unfortunately, if you break any of the house rules we will have to ask you to leave immediately without a refund or compensation.  We just want to make sure that everyone has an enjoyable, relaxing and safe stay with us.

 

  1. Check-in is from 3.00 pm onwards.

  2. Check-out must be before 10.00 am on the day of your departure.

  3. Early Check-ins and late Check-outs will be offered, subject to availability, at an additional cost. 

  4. Pets are welcome in the cottages but not in the Main House.  The pet fee is £25 per pet, per stay.  (please note pets are not accepted in the main house).

  5. There is a hot tub supplement for guests staying in the Main House wanting to use the hot tub, for two-levels of service - Full-Service: £150.00 or Self-Service: £100.00

  6. The number of people using the accommodation at any time must not exceed the maximum occupancy number for the property you have reserved as follows:

    1. 6.1.Derwent Cottage - six people to include all babies and infants.

    2. 6.2.Dovedale Cottage - six people to include all babies and infants.

    3. 6.3.Henmore Cottage - four people + one baby or infant under the age of 2 years old.

    4. 6.4.Lathkill Cottage - three people + one baby and infant in a travel cot. 

    5. 6.5.Summer Cottage - four people + one baby or infant under the age of 2 years old.

    6. 6.6.All cottages as a single reservation - 24 people to include all babies and infants.

    7. 6.7.The Hall - 20 people + two babies or infants under the age of 2 years old.

  7. Only those people listed by name on the pre-check-in questionnaire can occupy the property.

  8. We do not permit the use of additional camp beds in the accommodation or the use tents, caravans or camper vans in the grounds.

  9. We have allocated car parking spaces at a rate of one per bedroom.  Therefore, we have allocated parking as follows:

    1. 9.1.Cottage Car Park - Derwent Cottage - three cars; Dovedale Cottage - three cars; Henmore Cottage - two cars; Lathkill Cottage - two cars. Summer Cottage - two cars.

    2. 9.2.The Hall Courtyard - For Main House guests only - 10 cars

    3. 9.3.We ask that you don't bring more cars than allocated to your property as we do not have space for more vehicles.

  10. Only guests with a reservation are allowed to park their car at the property.

  11. We discourage the practice of day visitors coming to Stainsborough Hall.  If you would like to invite guests to the cottages during your stay, you will need to notify us in advance.  There is a charge of £10 per person per day – additional car parking spaces will be allocated if possible. However, if we are full - Day visitors will need to park in the Carsington public pay and display car parks and walk to the property.

  12. Before arriving at the property you will be asked for the following information: Names and Addresses of all adults that are staying at the property; Ages of all children and number of dogs that you will be bringing with you.

  13. Our cottages are not intended for boisterous groups. Quiet time has to be observed from 10pm onwards. 

  14. Hen and Stag parties are only accepted in the main house or if all of the Holiday Cottages are hired together.  We do not accept Hen or Stag if only one or two cottages are booked.

  15. We do not permit the hiring or use of hot tubs, speaker systems, discos or other such entertainment systems.

  16. Furniture must not be moved from its original position. 

  17. Nothing should be stuck to the walls, doors or any part of the structure – this includes, but is not limited to, balloons, banners, posters and photos.

  18. Glitter, confetti, rice or any other such decorative substance is not to be used either inside or outside any of the buildings. 

  19. Signage cannot be added to the drive, road or surrounding areas.

  20. The cottages cannot be used as a base for business activities.

  21. This is a private estate and as such, professional photography is not permitted within the grounds or buildings without written approval of the owners.  Photographs cannot be used for any commercial or promotional purpose without the prior written approval of the owners.

  22. We are surrounded by animals and farmland and fire can be a potential risk factor during the summer months.  We do not allow outside fires (unless it’s a BBQ), fireworks, or Chinese Lanterns.

  23. Smoking is not permitted inside the properties.  It is permitted outside as long it's not affecting other guests.  Please get rid of stubs responsibly.

  24. There are two distinct gardens – the cottages and the main house.  Guests should use the gardens associated with the property they have reserved to ensure privacy for other guests.

  25. Before engaging a third-party supplier, you must ask for permission. In the process of giving that permission we will ask for relevant information such as full details of the service, the business providing the service, and we’ll ask for copies of their public liability insurance, along with any other information required by our insurance company.  

  26. We may impose additional costs depending on the activities of your third-party providers and their use of our facilities. 

  27. You should not engage any third party to provide any service at the property without the written consent of Stainsborough Hall and where relevant our insurance provider.  

  28. Some hazardous activities are not permitted and these include (but are not limited to) bouncy castles / inflatables, firework displays, horse riding, archery, clay pigeon shooting.  All requests for activities that may be deemed hazardous will be referred to our Insurance Providers who will have the final say on whether or not an activity is permitted.  

  29. Failure to notify us of a third-party activity at Stainsborough Hall will result in the supplier being asked to leave the premises immediately.  We will not be liable for any fees or costs associated with the supplier being asked to leave.  

  30. The owner is not liable for any accident or injury occurring at the premises save where the accident or injury is as a result of the negligence or wilful misconduct of the owner.

  31. Any problem or complaint, concerning your holiday must be immediately reported directly to us/our representatives and we will endeavour to put, matters right.

  32. We will not consider any complaints not reported to us/the property manager at the time and only reported after you have returned from holiday.
