Haddon Hall
Described by Simon Jenkins in “1000 Best Houses” as “the most perfect house to survive from the middle ages”. Set in the heart of the beautiful Peak District National Park, parts of the house date from the 12th Century, sitting like a jewel in its Elizabethan terraced gardens, and overlooking the River Wye.
Film-makers flock to Haddon Hall to use it as a location. The house and grounds have played host to no less than three versions of “Jane Eyre”. Screen credits also include "Elizabeth”, "Pride & Prejudice” and “The Other Boleyn Girl”.

Sir Richard Arkwright’s Cromford Mills
A world Heritage site, Sir Richard Arkwright’s 1783 Masson Mills in Cromford, are the finest surviving and best-preserved example of an Arkwright cotton mill. Working textile museum illustrating Arkwright’s legacy.

Ecclesbourne Valley Railway
The Ecclesbourne Valley Railway is a 9-mile long heritage railway in Derbyshire. The headquarters of the railway centre on Wirksworth station, and services operate in both directions between Wirksworth and Duffield and from Wirksworth to Ravenstor.

Wirksworth Heritage Centre
Recently renovated and updated, the Wirksworth Heritage Centre provides an excellent opportunity to learn about the town's history, it's traditional industries and the local people - and the Wolly Rhino (I'll let you go to find out more!). It has a number of interactive displays and is a fascinating way to spend time.
