A Great Place for a Holiday

Stainsborough Hall and its five dog-friendly holiday cottages provide a perfect base for an idyllic country getaway for the whole family.

The five independent cottages are all located around one courtyard, but private entrances, meter-thick walls, and separate terraces mean that you feel like you are totally alone (if you want to be).  The Cottages have either two or three bedrooms and are ideal for families.

The Hall is set apart from the cottages and is perfect for groups of up to 20 people.  Recently, renovated and stylishly decorated throughout, the house is a comfortable and relaxing place to enjoy time with friends and family.  The ten bedrooms, two living rooms, games room with pool table, dining room with seating for 20 people, and enormous kitchen provide ample space for larger groups.

Lots to Do!

This tranquil estate is located on the shore of Carsington Water, with direct access to the traffic-free trail around the reservoir, making it an ideal retreat for walkers, cycling, and holidaymakers looking to take advantage of the stunning scenery.  And while the cottages are set in a stunning rural and remote location, local attractions such as the Heights of Abraham, Cromford, Matlock, Ashbourne, and The Peak District National Park are all within easy reach.

Our nearest country pub is a one-mile walk away across the fields where you'll be met with some lovely food and warm welcome.

What People Say

I stayed in Stainsborough Hall with 18 friends for my 30th birthday celebrations and it was absolutely brilliant! The house was immaculately clean and beautifully decorated, and had more than enough space for all of us. The gardens are beautiful and the hot tub was glorious (takes a little time to heat up, so start adding logs early!). The surroundings are idyllic and it's very well located, close to Cromford and Matlock...

Geat cottage in a beautiful setting.
If you like sports then there is an outdoor tennis court and a games room for table tennis.
You can walk straight into Carsington waters from the cottage and do an 8 mile loop which is easy to navigate.
The couple who live on site and manage the cottages are really friendly and nothing is any trouble.
We will most certainly be returning.

Well, I absolutely do not know where to start. This has been the best weekend ever in the most incredible and luxurious Stainsborough hall. It was a weekend for my entire family, so 12 adults and 2 children ( age 5 and 1.5). The hall is reached from a long driveway with fields either side. You drive past the cottages that are part of the estate, through a beautiful archway, and there it is, quite frankly the most beautiful house....
